TV

Kangxi is a popular talking TV show in Taiwan. The hosts in it are Xu Xidi and Cai Kangyong who are very funny. I like this TV show because the topic in it is sharp and humorous. The completely impromptu questions and no bottom line topics always surprise me. I feel relax when I watch it. Though the topic in this part looks serious, Xidi and Kangyong always can find out the point to make me laugh. It seems to tell me the life is full of joke.

Glog

We did our outside project in Millennium Park. That was the place when we took our interview in. We asked a lady to talk about something about pop culture and high culture. I liked she said "I don't think I follow pop culture because pop culture is around us." Millennium Park is a famous scenic spots in Chicago. Many people travel here. People like to take photos with the BeanGate.

Food

I choose "Noodles vs. Sesame Seed Buns" because I think it was memorable in my mind. Sesame seed bun is a kind of traditional food in China. It is like apple pie in America. At the ending of this article, it talks sesame seed buns first.  Then it relates to the culture in China. It is a great method to introduce China. I was surprised that many Americans focus on the culture in China nowadays. It is a good beginning to let the world know what the real China is.

Movies

I like "Forrest Gump" because I can encourage by it, In this movie, Forrest was born with mental retardation, IQ only has 75. His mother wanted Forrest to go to school like other children, and encouraged him never give up. Though Forrest was bullied of other children, Jenny liked him. Jenny told Forrest "If you are ever in trouble, don't try to be brave, just run, just run away." From that time, Forrest began run. He ran when his classmate was bullied him. He ran in to a university and became a famous soccer player. He became a hero when he saved his companions in the war. He twice received by President. Ever though Forrest became so successful, he still loved Jenny. He saw Jenny in a meet, but Jenny said she does love Forrest. At that time, Jenny was fallen. After that, Forrest loved Ping pong and did very well.

Music

Liu Huan is one of the most famous singer in China. Round bodu, round face, long braids and a black suit, the image of Liu Huan is unchangeable. In 1991, he became a prossor at the university, teaching the history of Western music. As the king of pop in China, Liu Huan is not willing to give up his other job, teaching. He thinks being a professor in university is more stable, and it cann’t influence his music career. He has taught students for 21 years, and he is very proud of the fact that he is one of the most popular teachers at the university.

Reading

I think "Do I Look Like Enemy Number One?" let me think a lot. The author of this article's phrase "dueling cultures" has taken on a very different meaning since this article was first published in 1999 because everyone for cultural understanding is not the same. Many Americans are afraid of the "911" event happened again. They have an uncomfortable emotional with Arabic.Ali wants to let the Americans know Arabic, not all Arabic are terrorists. Arabic also have a good culture of their own countries.

Cultural Identity

Every country has its own cultural identity. It shows us the world's cultural diversity. Nowadays, development is more and more advanced. We can know others countries easily. No matter who are you, where are you from, we can share our culture to you if you want it. Though we can accept others countries' culture, we still have to keep our own country's characteristics. That is the only way you know "who am I?"
